Occupational dosimetry

This type of dosimetry is used to measure the doses within an environment and depending on their application we can use:

  • Area dosimetry: It is used to measure the doses of a specific area. Nevertheless, in practical terms, and provided the radiological protection manager thus decides, it can be used to estimate equivalent personal doses.
  • Environmental dosimetry: Here the aim is to measure the impact of radiations on the environment or a specific environment.
  • Work station dosimetry: Another way to estimate the equivalent doses received by workers consists of allocating a dosimeter to a work station. Therefore, this dosimeter is used by all the operators sharing a series of functions and tasks assigned to a work station.
